SPEED
ADJUSTMENT
The
tape
speed
should
be
measured
using
TEAC
flutter
free
tape,
Model
YIT-2003
(19
cm+7-1/2),
2002
(9.3.cm+3-3/4).
These
tapes
contain
a
highly
accurate
3000
Hz
tone.
Connect
a
digital
frequency
counter
to
either
line
OUTPUT
jack.
The
indicated
frequency
should
be
3000
Hz
(+30
Hz
or
less)
for
both
speeds.
If
necessary,
adjust
"adjustable
resistors"
on
the
SERVO
AMPL
see
Fig
9-8.

These
figures
apply
to
any
tape
position
and
direction
(such
as
full
take-up

there

excessive
wow

flutter,
examine.
the
pinch
roller,
belt,
motors,
capstan
shaft,
and
reel
rest
for
"grease",
"oil",
"dirt''
and/or
"wear".
Also
examine
the
tape
counter
assy
for
even-
ness
of
operation.
