Capturing a Single-Shot Signal
In this example, the reliability of a reed relay in a piece of equipment has been poor, and you need to investigate t he problem.
You suspect that the relay contacts arc when the relay opens. The fastest you can open and close the re lay is about once per
minute, so you need to capture the voltage across the relay as a single-shot acquisition.
To set up for a single-sho t acquisition:
1. Adjust the Vertical Scale and Horizontal Scale to appropriate ranges for the signal you expect to s ee.
2. Push Acquire.
3. Push Mode.
4. Select Sample.
5. Push Trigger Menu.
