If this product is to be used on a broadband ADSL line, then you must ensure that it

If you have subscribed to Telstra’s Calling Number Display service, the date and time
are set automatically with each incoming call.
The date and time is recorded with each answering machine message you receive. If
you have not subscribed to Telstra’s Calling Number Display Service you can set the
date and time manually.
Set the date and time manually
Press MENU when idle.
Press
p
q
to scroll to Set date/time, then press SELECT on the cordless
handset or the telephone base.
Enter the month, date and year, then press SELECT on the cordless handset or
NEXT on the telephone base.
Enter the hour and minute, then press
p
q
to select AM or PM.
Press SELECT on the cordless handset or SAVE on the telephone base.
