Code Problem Probable Remedy
E-20 out of range 1. If this occurs when electrode(s)
pH,mV, are out of solution, code will
Rel mV, or conc. disappear when electrode(s) are
returned to solution.
2. Verify electrode(s) are
properly connected.
3. Sample may be out of range.
Check buffer or standard.
4. Check slope value and the
isopotential point setting.
5. Recalibrate using fresh buffer
or standards.
6. Check that the ATC probe is
connected properly and make sure
temperature is within -5.0
to +105˚C.
E-21 ABR error Electrode voltage being measured
pH autocalibration is > ±0.5 pH units from the
error nominal value for the pH buffer,
therefore the meter does not
recognize it as an autobuffer.
1. Verify buffer as 1.68, 4.01,
7.00, 10.01, or 12.46. For Orion
410Aplus and 420Aplus verify
buffer as 4.01, 7.00, or 10.01.
2. Press any key and recalibrate using
fresh buffer. .
3. Clean electrode(s) and refill
reference electrode. Recalibrate.
4. Perform a manual calibration.
Some electrode(s) may operate
outside of the range for pH
autocalibration. This may be a sign
for an electrode aging and
is normal.
