TheUniedExtensibleFirmwareInterface(UEFI)BIOSisapartofthesystemprogramsthatmakeup
thebasiclayerofsoftwarebuiltintoyourtablet.TheUEFIBIOStranslatestheinstructionsfromother
softwarelayers.
YourtabletsystemboardhasamodulecalledEEPROM,alsoreferredtoasashmemory.Youcanupdate
theUEFIBIOSandtheThinkPadSetupprogrambystartingyourtabletwithaashupdateopticaldiscor
ashupdateapplicationrunningintheWindowsenvironment.
Insomeinstanceswhenyouaddsoftware,hardware,oradevicedriver,youmightbeinformedthatyou
needtoupdateyourUEFIBIOSinorderforthenewadditiontoworkproperly.
