3. About your Router
On the top of your router, you will find a number of status LEDs that indicate the status of the device. These
lights can be useful to help you troubleshoot any problems with your connection.
Light name Colour Meaning
Power LED Green (solid) Power on, normal operation
Red (solid) Power on, self-test failed, indicating device malfunction
Amber (blinking) Bootloader active (during upgrade)
None (o) Power o*
Ethernet LED Green (blinking) Ethernet activity
Green (solid) Ethernet connection, no activity
None (o) No Ethernet connection**
Wireless LED Green (blinking) Wireless activity, WPA encryption
Green (solid) No wireless activity, WPA encryption
Amber (blinking) Wireless activity, WEP encryption
Amber (solid) No wireless activity, WEP encryption
Red (blinking) Wireless activity, no security
Red (solid) No wireless activity, no security
Red/green (toggling) Wireless client registration phase
None (o) WLAN disabled

* Check power cable is secure and switched on
