DRIVE CHAIN CLEANING AND OILING
Clean and oil the chain as follows:
1. Wash the chain with kerosene. Kerosene is a petroleum product and will
provide some lubrication as well as cleaning action.
Keep kerosene away from children and pets. Dispose of used kerosene
properly.
Do not use gasoline, Trichlene or other commercial cleaning solvents to
clean the drive chain. ese uids have a strong dissolving power that
could damage the “O” rings in the chain. Damage to the “O” rings would
allow the grease to run out of the chain and the chain would have to be
replaced.
2. Aer thoroughly washing the chain and allowing it to dry, oil the links
with a heavy weight motor oil(40 or 50 weight)
