I2®/I3 Valve-5
3. Turn power On and start motor.(Refer to the appropriate
controller diagrams to start pump motor.)
4. Turn the LOW PRESSURE adjustment IN (cw) until the car
just starts to move. See Figure 6.
5. Turn the LOW PRESSURE adjustment OUT (ccw) until the
car movement stops.
6. After the car stops, turn the LOW PRESSURE adjustment
OUT (CCW) an additional
1

turn.
NOTE: On valves marked with SP on the cover plate or the
valve nameplate, use the instructions for the special regulator
piston as follows:
S Turn the LOW PRESSURE adjustment OUT (ccw) 3
turns. Check for too much time delay upon motor
starting and car movement. Turn the adjustment In
(cw) until excessive delay is eliminated. Car must be
stopped and started to check setting.

7. Tighten the locknut.
8. Stop motor and turn the power Of f.
9. Remove any jumpers that may have been used.
10. Reconnect the up slow solenoid wire to the controller.
Relief Pressure Adjustment
1. Close the line SHUT-OFF valve and install a pressure
gauge.
2. With the controller on inspection turn the power on, start
the motor and read the pressure
Stop power unit IMMEDIATELY if
pressure exceeds 625 P.S.I.
3. Adjust the RELIEF VALVE to relieve at the pressure indi-
cated on the power unit nameplate. See Figure 6.

4. Tighten the locknut and turn Off Power.
5. Relieve the jack pressure by opening the MANUAL LOW-
ERING valve. See Figure 7.
6. Close the MANUAL LOWERING valve.
7. T urn On Power and recheck relief pressure.
8. Tu rn Off power and repeat steps 5 and 6.
9. Open LINE SHUT-OFF valve.
Up Slowdown and Up Leveling Speed Adjustment
1. Turn the UP SLOWDOWN adjustment OUT (ccw) 10 turns.
(This ensures that the car does not initially start up.) See
Figure 6.
2. With the car on INSPECTION, start the car up. Slowly turn
the UP SLOWDOWN adjustment screw in (cw) until the car
movesat10to12fpm. (3to3.7M/min.)
3. Recheck U P LEVELING speed.
