Winch service and conservation
Winch service
Always use original spare parts which provide supplier for service and conservation,
otherwise you may damage winch or may cause dangerous situation for people who
work with the winch.
If the rope is damaged ( cut, scratched, banded or hook and eye sling damages),
immediately change it for new one. Remember, damaged rope may break during
pulling. That kind of situation may cause serious personal injuries, even death.
Winch conservation
Brand new winch is always lubricated and ready to use.
Every winch need conservation and periodic overview, it depends on frequency and
intensity of use. Conservation and overview are only made by Titanium Winch.
Good conservation: open winch, clean all parts inside from the dust, lubricate
elements which needs it, check and change all damaged or used parts.
Steel rope also should be lubricated.
After every use winch should be cleaned from dust and wet mud. Otherwise it may
cause winch damages.
It is highly recommended to use the winch regularly (at least once a month). Turn on
the winch and pull out 15 meters of rope, next pull out 5 meters rope without turning
on, next again turn on the winch and pull on the whole rope. It preserves all winch
parts in good condition.
After every rally, or winch use it is recommended to check
and do:
1. Change the lubrication oil in geartrain if had a
contact with water. If not please always change
the lubrication once for 6 months.
2. Check the condition of the motor brushes and the bearing.
3. Check the brake shafts.
4. Check, clean and connect loose wiring ( in the control box, on the motor and
battery).
5. Rope conservation ( after check if it is no need to change the rope for new
one). Rope must be changed more often than other winch parts.
6. Check lubrication of the drum bearings.
