Safe winch operations
Safety tips
1. Dress properly!
- Don’t wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts and may
cause serious injuries.
- Wear leather gloves when handling winch cable and while winch working.
- Do not handle cable with bare hands, broken rope wires can causes injuries.
- Highly recommended is non- skid footwear.
- Long hair should be protected.
2. Do not use the winch while you are drunk!
3. Always keep a safe distance!
All persons should stand in a safe distance from the winch rope and load during winch
operation. Recommended distance from the rope is at least 1,5 x the rope length. The
situation when the rope breaks is very dangerous, it may cause serious personal
injuries, even death. Broken rope with very big strength hit backwards and sideways,
please remember always about your safety.
Never stand close to the rope with the load, never cross it!
