1. Drain the oil from the engine; refer to
Changing the Oil.
2. Open the rear access co v er .
3. R emo v e the old filter and wipe the filter
adapter ( Figure 28 ) g ask et surface .

absorbed b y filter material, then pour off the
ex cess oil.
5. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the r ubber
g ask et on the re placement filter ( Figure 28 ).
6. Install the re placement oil filter to the filter
adapter . T ur n the oil filter cloc kwise until
the r ubber g ask et contacts the filter adapter ,
then tighten the filter an additional 1/2 tur n
( Figure 28 ).
7. Fill the crankcase with the proper type of new
oil; refer to Changing the Oil.
8. Close the rear access co v er .

Changing the Fuel Filter
Chang e the fuel filter yearly . Nev er install a dir ty
filter .
1. Lo w er the loader ar ms and stop the engine .

2. Shut off the fuel v alv e in the hose near the
bottom of the fuel tank as illustrated in
Figure 29 ).

3. Open the rear access co v er .
4. Open the drain v alv e ( Figure 30 ) and drain the
fuel from the fuel filter into a suitable container
and dispose of it properly .

6. Clean the mounting surface .
7. Lubricate the g ask et on the new filter with
clean engine oil. Screw on the new filter b y
hand until the g ask et contacts the housing,
then tighten it another 1/2 tur n.
8. Open the fuel v alv e on the bottom of the fuel
tank ( Figure 29 ).
9. Bleed the fuel system; refer to Bleeding the
Fuel System.
