1.Removethebatteryfromthemachine;referto
RemovingtheBattery(page36).
2.Chargethebatteryfor4to8hoursatarateof
3to4A(Figure50).Donotoverchargethe
battery.

4.Washtheentirecasewithasolutionofbaking
sodaandwater.
5.Rinsethebatterywithclearwater.
6.Coatthebatterypostsandcableconnectorswith
Grafo112X(skin-over)grease(ToroPartNo.
505-47)orpetroleumjellytopreventcorrosion.
7.Installthebattery;refertoInstallingtheBattery
(page38).
