Checktheaircleanerbodyfordamagewhichcouldcause
anairleak.Replaceifdamaged.Checkthewholeintake
systemforleaks,damageorloosehoseclamps.
Servicetheaircleanerlteronlywhentheservice
indicatorrequiresitorevery400hours(morefrequently
inextremelydustyordirtyconditions).Changingtheair
lterbeforeitisnecessaryonlyincreasesthechanceof
dirtenteringtheenginewhenthelterisremoved.
Besurethecoverisseatedcorrectlyandsealswiththe
aircleanerbody.

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily

Every400hours
1.Pullthelatchoutwardandrotatetheaircleanercover
counterclockwise(
Figure48).
2.Removethecoverfromtheaircleanerbody.Before
removingthelter,uselowpressureair(40psi,clean
anddry)tohelpremovelargeaccumulationsofdebris
packedbetweenoutsideofprimarylterandthe
canister.Avoidusinghighpressureairwhichcould
forcedirtthroughthelterintotheintakearea.This
cleaningprocesspreventsdebrisfrommigratinginto
theintakewhentheprimarylterisremoved.
