Theengineisshippedwithoilinthecrankcase;however,
thelevelofoilmustbecheckedbeforeyourststartthe
engineandafteryouhaverunit.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Removethedipstickandwipeitwithacleanrag
(Figure50).Insertthedipstickintothetubeand
makesureitisseatedfully.Removethedipstickand
checktheoillevel.

3.Iftheoillevelislow,removethellercapfrom
thevalvecover(Figure50)andpouroilintothe
openinguntiltheoillevelisuptotheFullmarkon
thedipstick.Addtheoilslowlyandcheckthelevel
oftenduringthisprocess.Donotoverll.
4.Installthedipstickrmlyinplace.
ChangingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst50hours—Changethe
engineoil.
Every100hours—Changetheengine
oil,includingsyntheticoil(more
oftenwhenoperatingunderheavy
loadorinhightemperature).
1.Starttheengineandletitrunforveminutes.This
warmstheoilsoitdrainsbetter.
2.Settheparkingbrake,stopthepump,stopthe
engine,andremovetheignitionkey.
3.Releasethelatchonthebackoftheseatandliftthe
seatforward.
Componentsundertheseatwillbehotifthe
sprayerhasbeenrunning.Ifyoutouchhot
componentsyoumaybeburned.
Allowthesprayertocoolbeforeperforming
maintenanceortouchingcomponentsunder
thehood.
4.Placeapanbelowtheoildrain.
5.Removethedrainplug(Figure51).
