1.Removethepickuptubeofthefuellterfromthe

2.Alignthepickuptubeofthenewfuellterwiththe

oatarmisintheemptyposition(Figure63).
4.Insertthefuel-pumpttingintothepickuptubeuntil
thettingisfullyseated(Figure63).
InstallingtheFuelPumpandSending
Unit
1.Supporttheoatarmandpickuptubetogetherand
sliptheoatandfuellterintotheopeninginthefuel
tank(Figure62).
Important:Ensurethattheoatandthelongleg
ofthelterarepointingforwardinthetankand
thettingatthetopofthefuelpumppoints90°
towardthecenterlineofthemachine.
2.Seatthefuelpump/sendingunitintotheopeningin
thetank(Figure62andFigure63).
3.Installthesealandnutoverthefuelpump/sending
andontotheneckofthefueltankandtightenthenut
handtight(Figure62).
4.Connectthecouplingonthefuelhosetothettingof
thefuelpump(Figure62).
Note:Ensurethatthelockingsleeveofthefuel-hose
couplingsecuresthecouplingtothepumptting.
5.Connectthe2-socketconnectorofthemachine-wiring
harnesstothe2-pinconnectorofthefuel
pump/sendingunit;Connectthe2-pinconnectorof
themachine-wiringharnesstothe2-socketconnector
ofthefuelpump/sendingunit(Figure62).
6.RotatethestarterswitchtotheOnpositionandcheck
thefuel-hosecouplingforleaks.
Note:Ifthecouplingleaks,rotatethestarterswitchto
theOffposition,removethekey,removethecoupling,
checkthecouplingandttingfordirtordamage,and
installthehoseandcouplingontothetting.
Note:Repairanyfuelleaksbeforeproceedingtothe
nextstep.
7.Assemblethecovertothetankwiththeand4screws
(#10x3/4inch)thatyouremovedinstep2of
RemovingtheFuelPumpandSendingUnit(page46).
8.Torquethescrewsto10in-lbs.
DrainingtheFuelTank
ServiceInterval:Every400hours/Yearly(whichevercomes
rst)
Drainandcleanthefueltankifthefuelsystembecomes
contaminatedorifyouplantostorethemachineforan
extendedperiod.Whencleaningthefueltank,usefresh,
cleanfueltoushoutthetank
1.Transferthefuelfromthetankintoanapprovedfuel
containerusingasiphonpump,orfromthemachine
beforeyoupourthefueloutofthetankllspoutinto
thefuelcontainer.
Note:Ifyouremovethefueltank,youwillneedto
disconnectthefuelhoseandelectricalconnectorsfrom
thefuelpumpandsendingunit;refertoRemovingthe
FuelPumpandSendingUnit(page46)
2.Flushthetankwithfresh,cleanfuel,ifnecessary.
3.Replacethefuellters;refertoReplacingtheFuel
Filter(page48).
4.Installthetankifyouremoveditinstep1.
Note:Ifyouremovethefueltank,youwillneedto
connectthefuelhoseandelectricalconnectorstothe
fuelpumpandsendingunit;refertoInstallingtheFuel
PumpandSendingUnit(page48)
5.Fillthetankwithfresh,cleanfuel.
