sealant,andinstallthedrainplug(Figure39).

untilthegasketcontactsthelteradapter,then
tightenthelter3/4to1turnfurther.

1.Cleantheareaaroundthesparkplugssothat
foreignmattercannotfallintothecylinder.
2.Pullthewiresoffthesparkplugsandremove
theplugs.
3.Checktheconditionofthesideelectrode,center
electrode,andcenterelectrodeinsulatorto
ensurethatthereisnodamage.
Important:Replaceacracked,fouled,dirty,
orotherwisemalfunctioningsparkplug.Do
notsandblast,scrape,orcleanelectrodes
byusingawirebrushbecausegritmay
eventuallyreleasefromtheplug,fallintothe
cylinder,anddamagetheengine.
4.Settheairgapbetweenthecenterandsideof
theelectrodesat0.76mm(0.030inches)as
showninFigure40.
