6.Installthellercapanddipstick.
ChangingtheEngineOilandFilter
ServiceInterval:Every100hours—Changethe
engineoilandlter.
Engineoilquantity:1.4L(1.5USqt)withlter
1.Removethedrainplug(Figure41)andletthe
oilowintoadrainpan.

2.Cleanthethreadsofthedrainplug,applyPTFE
sealant,andinstallthedrainplug(Figure41).
3.Removetheoillter(Figure41).
4.Applyalightcoatofcleanoiltothenewlter
gasket.
5.Threadtheoillterontotheenginebyhand
untilthegasketcontactsthelteradapter,then
tightenthelter3/4to1turnfurther.
Important:Donotovertightentheoillter.
6.Addoiltothecrankcase;refertoEngineOil
Specication(page33)andCheckingthe
EngineOil(page33).
7.Disposeoftheoillterandusedoilproperly.
ReplacingtheSparkPlugs
ServiceInterval:Every1,000hours
Sparkplugspecication:ChampionRC14YC
Airgapspecication:0.76mm(0.030inch)
1.Cleantheareaaroundthesparkplugssothat
foreignmattercannotfallintothecylinder.
2.Pullthewiresoffthesparkplugsandremove
theplugs.
3.Checktheconditionofthesideelectrode,center
electrode,andcenterelectrodeinsulatorto
ensurethatthereisnodamage.
Important:Replaceacracked,fouled,dirty,
orotherwisemalfunctioningsparkplug.Do
notsandblast,scrape,orcleanelectrodes
byusingawirebrushbecausegritmay
eventuallyreleasefromtheplug,fallintothe
cylinder,anddamagetheengine.
4.Settheairgapbetweenthecenterandsideof
theelectrodesat0.76mm(0.030inches)as
showninFigure42.
