Themachinehasgreasettingsthatmustbelubricated
regularlywithNo.2GeneralPurposeLithiumBase
Grease.Ifthemachineisoperatedundernormal
conditions,lubricateallbearingsandbushingsafter
every50hoursofoperationorimmediatelyafterevery
washing.
Bearingsrarelyfailfromdefectsinmaterialsor
workmanship.Themostcommonreasonforfailureis
moistureandcontaminationworkingitswaypastthe
protectiveseals.Bearingsthataregreasedwillrelyupon
regularmaintenancetopurgeharmfuldebrisfromthe
bearingarea.Sealedbearings,suchasthecastorwheel
bearings,relyonaninitialllofspecialgreaseanda
robustintegralsealtokeepcontaminantsandmoisture
outoftherollingelements.
Thesealedbearingsrequirenolubricationorshortterm
maintenance.Thisminimizesroutineservicerequired
andreducesthepotentialofturfdamageduetogrease
contamination.Thesesealedbearingpackageswill
providegoodperformanceandlifeundernormaluse,
butperiodicinspectionsofbearingconditionandseal
integrityshouldbeconductedtoavoiddowntime.These
bearingsshouldbeinspectedseasonallyandreplacedif
damagedorworn.Bearingsshouldoperatesmoothly
withnodetrimentalcharacteristicssuchashighheat,
noise,loosenessorindicationsofcorrosion(rust).
