Current-sensing switches must be capable of switching 24 Vac for heat-
pump-compressor circuit applications (see “Compressor line-voltage mon-
itoring” on page 18). The current-sensing switch must sense line voltage
current as low as 2 A. This amperage is common for a

ton compressor,
which is typically the smallest compressor on a heat pump.
Output relays
Relays for fan (speed) control connected to the Tracer ZN511 binary out-
puts cannot exceed 12 VA (0.5 A) current draw at 24 Vac.
Valve and damper actuators
Actuators cannot exceed 12 VA draw at 24 Vac. Use actuators with on/off
action and spring return to normally open or closed position based on the
desired default position.
