with clean water. Under freezing conditions, fill the
screenwasher
container
with
a
mixture of methvlated
sDirits
(alcohol)
and
water. This may then be used ro disperse ice and
snow from
the windscreen. Do
not
use anti-freeze solution in the
windscreen
washer, as this may discolour the
paintwork and
damage
the wiper blades and sealing rubber,
Remove the radiator filler cap; open
the tap in the bottom of
the
radiator
(Fig.
40) and the tap at the rear dght-hand
side of the
cylinder
block
(Fig.
4l).
Flushing
Eqcient cooling
is maintained by thoroughly
flushing the
system
once each year before adding anti-freeze.
When carrying
this out,
it is
advantageous
to remove the drain tap completely
and to use plenty
of clean running water.
Allowing antlfreeze solution
to remain in the system through-
out the summer
period affords anti-corrosion protection.
