To check the front derailleur’s
alignment:
1. Use the right-hand side shifter to put the
chain on the lowest rear gear (biggest
sprocket on the freewheel).
2. Use the left-hand side shifter to put the
chain on the middle front gear.
3. Check that the front derailleur’s cage
inside surface is as close as possible to the
chain without touching it. Recommended
distance is 0.5 to 1 mm (as shown below)
