Engine cylinder head bolt torque
The engine cylinder head bolts are tightened by the angle
tightening method and thus they do not need to be retightened.
When replacing the cylinder head gaskets with new ones, be sure
to tighten the cylinder head bolts in the following manner:
1) Apply molybdenum disulde grease on the head bolt threads
and seat surface.
2) Tighten the cylinder head bolts from center to outside evenly
in the three steps:
1st step: Tighten to 69 N-m (7 kgf-m) and back off.
2nd step: Tighten to 88 N-m (9 kgf-m).
3rd step: Turn further 90 to 120 degrees.
NOTE
The cylinder head bolts must not be reused more than 5 times.
They must be replaced with new ones after 5 times of removal
or earlier.
