AIR BLEEDING
BOLT EYE JOINT
Air mixed in the fuel system will make it difcult to start the engine
or cause the engine to fail to operate normally.
Whenever the fuel tank is drained, water is removed or the lter
element is replaced with a new one, bleed air out of the fuel
system in the following manner:
1) Loosen the fuel lter connection pipe (eye joint) tightening bolt
of the fuel pump.
2) Turn the feed pump handle top to the left, and the handle will
be lifted by the internal spring.
3) Turn the handle to discharge fuel containing air bubbles
through the eye joint.
4) Repeat the feed pump operation until fuel coming out of the
eye joint does not contain air bubbles. Tighten the eye joint
tightening bolt, push down the feed pump handle and screw it
in.
