8.1 Filling and purging the system
1. Disconnect the product by removing the power supply
to it using a partition with a contact opening of at least 3
mm (e.g. fuses or power switches).
2. Remove the front casing. (→ Page 11)
8.1.1 Opening the isolator devices
▶ Open all available isolator devices in the cylinder char-
ging circuit (on-site).
8.1.2 Filling and purging the cylinder charging
circuit
1. Protect live components against escaping water.
2. Check whether the automatic air vent (1) is open.
3. Loosen the cap on the automatic air vent by one or two
rotations as required.
Note
The cap of the automatic air vent must re-
main loosened by one or two rotations dur-
ing operation of the system in the first two
months. Two months after filling the cylinder
charging circuit, you can tighten the cap on
the automatic air vent.
4. Open all available isolator devices in the cylinder char-
ging circuit (on-site).
5. Check the pressure in the cylinder charging circuit using
the pressure gauge that is available on-site, and add
extra water as required.
6. Check the cylinder charging circuit for leak-tightness.
Conditions: The cylinder is an auroSTOR
▶ Fill the cylinder charging circuit with suitable heating
water.
▶ Flush out the cylinder thoroughly so that the air can es-
cape from the pipe coil.
▶ Check the pressure in the cylinder charging circuit.
– While doing this, pay attention to the pressure of the
expansion vessel that was installed on-site.
8.1.3 Filling the storage tank
Danger!
Possible risk to health from escaping
solar fluid.
During filling, solar fluid may be emitted from
the purging valve.
▶ Take precautionary measures to protect
yourself from escaping solar fluid.
Caution.
Risk of damage due to unsuitable solar
fluid.
The use of unsuitable solar fluid may cause
malfunctions and damage to the solar sys-
tem.
▶ Use only Vaillant solar fluid.
Note
To enable simple filling of solar fluid, we recom-
mend the mobile filling device.
1. Connect a hose that runs down to the floor from the
purging valve (1).
2. Open the purging valve (1).
3. Connect a filling pump to the filling connection (2).
4. Make sure that the filling hose is free from kinks and
swan-necks.
5. Open the filling cock.
