13. Add oil to the engine. Refer to the Engine Owner’s
Manual for proper oil specications and capacity.
ATTENTION
For optimal engine life and performance, use Ventrac
full synthetic engine oil (Part Number 15.0037-1).
14. Install the oil ll cap and wipe up any oil spills.
15. Start the power unit and let it run at low idle engine
speed for approximately two to three minutes.
16. Shut o the engine and remove the ignition key.
17. Check for leaks around the oil lter. If any leaks
are evident, the lter may need tightened further,
or the lter may need to be removed, the gasket
and lter mount cleaned, and the lter reinstalled.
18. Check the engine oil level after allowing the en-
gine to cool for approximately two minutes and
add oil if necessary.
19. Reinstall the left engine cover.
Changing the Air Filter Elements
ATTENTION
When both air lter elements are removed, an open-
ing is created to the internal parts of the engine.
Be sure nothing falls into the canister that could
make its way into the engine. Have the new lter
elements ready to install immediately after remov-
ing the old lter elements.
Improper service to the engine air lter can result in
severe engine damage.
• Inspect the lter daily in extreme heat, dust, or
other severe conditions.
• Never run the engine without a proper air lter
installed.
• Never wash or clean the paper lter element.
1. If the power unit has been running, allow the
engine to cool.

Release both latches (B) on the engine air lter as-
sembly (A) and unhook the latches from the main
lter housing.

Remove the lter cap (C).
4. Remove and discard the primary (outer) air lter
element (D).
5. If the safety (inner) air lter element (E) is sched-
uled for replacement, remove and discard the
safety air lter element.
6. Install the new air lter element(s).
7. Reinstall the lter cap and fasten both latches.
