8. Changing of the Nozzle Insert (NI)
8.1. Exchange of the nozzle insert
The exchange of the nozzle insert follows our well-established “Quick Change” principle.
Devices and necessary tools:
Nozzle adjusting nut
Tappet guidance (assembled sealing material NBR,
other available options EPDM/VITON/SILICONE)
Nozzle insert
Fluid box
Squeezing out tool for nozzle insert
Nozzle insert changing tool
Approach:
 Step 1: Finish all dispensing processes, so the valve is non-operative.
 Step 2: Take care that no dispense fluid may leak. Therefore, you have to lower the supply
pressure to ambient pressure. It might be necessary to empty the cartridge respectively the
supply container. The cartridge can be closed with the cartridge locking pin MDT 309.
 Step 3: Switch-off the control unit MDC 3090A-FD.
 Step 4: Unscrew the nozzle unit from the fluid box. It may happen that excessive dispense fluid is
leaking. Make arrangements to protect individuals and equipment. At this point, the tappet is
unprotected and may break in case of force effect. Take care for precaution.
