7 Filling coolant system, if a water heater
is connected (2)
The
highest
point of the water heater is situ-
ated at a
higher
level than the expansion tank
for the ship’s engine.
The water heater will
not
be filled and bled
automatically during lling of the cooling
system.
• Fill the cooling system via the expansion
tank (2).
• Open valve (3) during lling and bleeding
the system.
Use a mixture of 40% antifreeze (ethylene-
glycol based) and 60% tap water or use a spe-
cial coolant.

Caution
Never ll the cooling system with sea water or
brackish water.
