Question and Answer IconNeed help?

Do you have a question about the VISICO VISICO2 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The VISICO2 Pocket Light is a portable, lightweight, and easy-to-use lithium-battery powered flash designed for outdoor shooting. It offers a 200W output power, adjustable from 1/1 to 1/256, and supports three modes: M manual, TTL auto flash, and Multi stroboscopic. This device is ideal for creating a variety of photos with special effects and achieving correct flash exposure in complex lighting environments.

Function Description

The VISICO2 flash can be used with a VC-818TX transmitter, allowing photographers to remotely control flash mode, flash power, sync speed, and LED modeling lamp without leaving the camera. It is also compatible with a dedicated range of light shaping accessories to personalize your work. The flash is suitable for various photography scenarios, including wedding and event photography, environmental portraiture, commercial illustration, photojournalism, and fast-action sports.

The device features a user-friendly interface with an LCD panel and several operation buttons. The LCD panel displays information such as TTL auto flash, M manual flash, Multi stroboscopic flash, transmission channel, group, battery power, warning, modeling lamp status, brightness of the modeling lamp, 2.4G wireless signal transmission, S1/S2 optical slave flash, recycling indicator, flash recycling ready, audible beep, number of flashes/flash frequency, mask function (N1/N2), and flash output power/flash exposure compensation (FEC).

Operation Buttons:

  • CH/GR (Transmission Channel and Group Setup Button): Short press to set group; press and hold for 3 seconds to set channel number.
  • MODE (Flash Mode Selection Button): Short press to select flash mode (M manual flash, Multi stroboscopic flash, TTL auto flash in sequence).
  • Modeling Lamp Button: Short press to control modeling lamp ON/OFF/1/2/3/4/5/6.
  • MENU Button: Short press to enter or quit MENU mode; long press to restore factory settings.
  • TEST Button: Short press to test flash.
  • Select Dial: Short press to set parameter.
  • Confirmation Button: Short press to confirm channel; in Multi mode, short press to set number of flashes and flash frequency; under MENU mode, short press to select Beep, Optical Mode, Auto Standby, Constant Color Temperature Mode, Mask, ID setting.

Flash Modes:

  • M Manual Flash: Flash output power is adjustable from 1/1 to 1/256 with 1/3 f-stop increment.
  • Multi Stroboscopic Flash: Generates a series of fast flashes, integrating multiple images into one picture. It is useful for capturing the trajectory of a moving object. You can set flash output power, flash frequency, and number of flashes. Maximum number of flashes is 20, and maximum flash frequency is 30Hz.
  • TTL Auto Flash: Integrated with TTL communication function. When mounting the VC-818TX transmitter on the camera, the camera and flash work together to release proper exposure.

Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC): This feature allows for quick minor adjustment of exposure in TTL system, with a range of -3 to +3 in precision 1/3 f-stop increments.

High-Speed Sync (HSS): When used with VC-818TX transmitter, the flash can synchronize with certain cameras in high-speed sync up to 1/8000s. This allows photographers to shoot outdoors in bright sun with wide-open aperture, fast shutter speed, and achieve amazing results.

Setting Channel and Group: The device supports 32 transmission channels (1 to 32) and 5 groups (A to E).

More Functions (accessible via MENU button):

  • Audible Beep (BEP): Enables or disables the beep sound.
  • Optical Mode (SLA): Supports S1 and S2 optical slave modes. In S1 mode, the slave unit will auto flash immediately when the master flash fires. In S2 mode, the unit will neglect the pre-flash and only fire in response to the second main flash.
  • Auto Standby (SLP): The flash goes to sleep mode after 20 or 60 minutes of idle use.
  • Constant Color Temperature Mode (Cor): When active, the color temperature of the flash remains 5600±100K. When inactive, flash duration is the first concern, and color temperature varies. Flash duration can reach 1/10000s, suitable for freezing fast-moving objects.
  • Mask (nn5): Useful for high-volume product photography to mask out the background. It allows defining key lights as one group set to n1 (1st flash of trigger) and background lights as the other set to n2 (2nd flash of trigger). All lights are set in M mode. Successive presses of the shutter will fire different groups of lights each time, enabling white-background/black silhouette shots.
  • ID Setting: Transmission ID number is selectable from 1 to 30. For effective trigger, the ID number on flash light and transmitter must be the same.
