Checking brushes
Check condition of brushes and holder.

the brushes.
Checking excitation winding
Check resistance of excitation winding.
Replace
the stator.

Checking main and rotor windings
Measure the resistance values of the
main windings by measuring across
R & Y (main 2); B & G (main 1).
If you have recently worked on the
generator, be sure the wiring at the
generator terminal strip is correct.
