Cleaning the Second-Side Scanning Lens Assembly
The second-side scanning lens assembly allows you to make 2-sided scans and copies with a single pass of
the original. If your model includes a second-side scanning lens assembly, it is located along the left side of
the document cover. The assembly consists of the mirrored glass strip, a metal strip, a white-plastic strip,
and rollers. To ensure the best image quality when scanning or making 2-sided copies, clean all parts of the
assembly.
To clean the second-side scanning lens assembly:
1. To access the second-side scanning lens assembly, lower the lever under the left side of the document
cover.
2. To separate the left end of the document cover from the lens assembly, continue to lower the lever.
