Factory Programs

#1 - GOLD

For low / average mineralisation, good sensitivity to medium and large sized Gold.

#2 - FINE GOLD

For heavy mineralisation / with good sensitivity to small and medium sized Gold.

#3 - COIN FAST

For coins and all types of targets good performance on mineralised or contaminated ground.

#4 - COIND DEEP

For coins and all types of targets good performance on low mineralised / uncontaminated ground.

#5 - USER

Customisable GOLD or COIN program.

#6 - USER

Customisable GOLD or COIN program.

MENU

Sensitivity

Adjust the Sensitivity level (from 0 to 99) with the +/- buttons. Exit with the MENU button.

Frequency

Scroll through the frequencies with the +/- buttons. The ORX gives you the choice of three operating frequencies.

Frequency Shift

Shift your operating frequency slightly to avoid interference generated by another detector or EMI.

Iron Tone

Activate / de-activate the low ferrous tone with the ON/OFF button. Different tones available.

Discrimination IAR Programs 1 & 2 Gold

Adjust the IAR DISCRIMINATION from 0 to 5. Applies to targets producing strong signals.

Discrimination Programs 3 & 4 Coin

Adjust discrimination from 0 to 99 to reject targets with a lower conductivity level.

Threshold Programs 1 & 2 Gold

Threshold is a faint background sound. Adjust the threshold from 0 to 20.

Reactivity

Determines detector's performance in how quickly it analyses signals and separates targets.

GROUND

General features

Different levels of soil mineralisation can affect detector performance. Note for non-mineralised ground.

Automatic Mode

Press 'Ground Balance' button to grab and calibrate current ground value. Restart if ground changes.

Manual Mode

Manually adjust the ground rejection levels. Note right value (GND MEASURE) and adjust GND BALANCE.

Mode Salt

Activate SALT MODE on highly conductive soil to stabilise the ORX. Ground balance adjustable from 0 to 30.

OPTION

Configuration

Choose CONFIGURATION to save settings, create programs, and configure basic parameters.

Loudspeaker

Enables the remote control's loudspeaker to be activated or de-activated.

Backlight

Backlight is activated on button press and switches off after a set time. Time is definable.

Contrast

Adjust the contrast of the display to improve readability in all lighting conditions.

Language

Select your language for the device interface.

GO TERRAIN

An application for iOS or Android smartphones to optimize your ORX experience.

UPDATE

Software can be updated via USB to mini B cable and internet connection.

PROGRAMS

Change programs, modify factory programs, and create 2 additional user programs.

Save a program

Steps to save a custom program: Press SETTINGS, choose PROGRAMS, select slot, validate.

COILS

Pairing the remote control with a new coil. Steps for entering serial number and selecting a coil.

Delete a coil from the list

Steps to delete a coil from the list. Edit serial number and replace with '000000'.

HEADPHONES

Pairing your WS AUDIO with the remote control. Steps to switch ON/OFF the WSA.

PINPOINTER MI-6

Un pair the MI-6 from the ORX

Steps to unpair the MI-6 pinpointer from the ORX. Select PINPOINTER and REMOVE.

Recover a lost MI-6

Find your pinpointer within a radius of 25 meters, even if switched off. Use RESEARCH function.

MI-6 active display screen

Shows Program, MI-6 battery condition, Target zoom screen, and access to SENS - TONE - AUDIO.

MI-6 Extended Functions

Sensitivity

MI-6 has 50 levels of sensitivity via remote control. Adjust sensitivity levels using +/- buttons.

Retune

Re-calibrate the MI-6 by pressing the button briefly away from metallic source or ground.

Tone

MI-6 audio PULSE tone can be adjusted from 120 to 1582 Hz via remote control.

Audio PITCH / Audio PULSE

Switch between Audio PITCH (default) and Audio PULSE modes for target location.

Making and saving a custom program

Steps to make and save a custom program for MI-6. Select program, enter settings, save.

POWER SUPPLY-BATTERIES

USB CHARGER (not included)

ORX can be charged using standard USB 5V certified charger (min 1A). Computer USB output is also suitable.

BATTERY STATUS

Remote control and coil battery levels are displayed on the screen. Shows charge level.

BATTERY LIFE

Shows battery life for WSA, Remote Control, and Coil depending on frequency used.

CHARGING TIME

Coil, Headphones, Remote Control charge in 3 Hours. Lithium batteries have no memory effect.

HOW TO EXTEND DURABILITY OF THE LITHIUM BATTERY ?

Tips for extending LiPo battery life: avoid full discharge/charge storage, store at 40-70%.

PRECAUTIONS

Acceptable ambient temperature during charging: 0°C to +35°C. Recommended storage temperature: 25°C.

Batteries

Internal protection systems. Do not dismantle, short-circuit, leave charging unnecessarily, or dispose with household waste.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

ADVICE BEFORE BEGINNING DETECTING

Familiarise yourself with equipment on practice ground. Use diverse objects and a clear area.

LOCATING A TARGET USING CROSSED SWEEPS IN MOTION MODE

Sweep around the target area, moving a quarter turn, to locate the precise zone where sound is loudest.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Sensitivity is too high.

Cause: Sensitivity too high. Solution: Lower it (pg 05).

Zone with high interference.

Cause: Interference from power lines, etc. Solution: Lower sensitivity, shift frequency, or move.

Storm interference.

Cause: Storm interference. Solution: Switch off and wait for storm to pass.

Proximity to other detectors.

Cause: Proximity to other detectors. Solution: Change or shift frequency or move further away.

Low ground balance.

Cause: Ground balance too low. Solution: Adjust it (pg 08).

Iron-infested ground.

Cause: Iron-infested ground. Solution: Find less infested place, avoid garden.

Coil not switching on.

Causes: Coil selection, serial number, battery, defect. Solutions provided.

No sound in headphones.

Causes: Faulty backphone or earpiece. Solutions: Change or contact reseller.

ORX QUICK START

Switch on the remote.

Switch on the remote control. To switch off, press for 2 seconds.

Wait a few seconds for the device to initialize.

Press once to grab ground value while pumping coil to calibrate ground effects. Restart if unstable.
