5.2 Filling - Priming
WARNING:
In the case of liquids that are excessively hot or cold, pay
attention to the risk of injury.
The figure shows the unit connected to the discharge and suction pipes.
1. On-off valve, discharge side
2. On-off valve, suction side
3. Filling plug.
5.2.1 Positive suction head installation
1. Close both valves.
2. Loosen the plug.
3. Slowly open the valve on the suction side until the liquid regularly comes out from the hole;
if necessary, loosen the plug further.
4. Close the plug.
Tightening torque: 40 Nm (350 lbf·in) ± 15%.
5.2.2 Suction lift installation
1. Open the valve on the suction side and close the valve on the discharge side.
2. Remove the plug.
3. Fill the unit until the liquid comes out of the hole.
4. Wait a few minutes and top up with more liquid if necessary.
5. Close the plug
Tightening torque: 40 Nm (350 lbf·in) ± 15%.
