Model Description
General
The Yale Walkie Straddle Stacker (MSW), Reach Stacker
(MRW), and Counterbalance Stacker (MCW) are used for
load transfer and stacking or retrieving duties in a limited
area. The Walkie Straddle Stacker has a lifting capacity of
2,000 to 4,000 lbs. The Walkie Reach Stacker has a lifting
capacity of 2,000 to 3,000 lbs. The Walkie Counterbalance
Stacker has a lifting capacity of 2,500 to 4,000 lbs. The lift
trucks have a 24-inch load center. The Walkie Stacker lift
trucks are available with either a 2-Stage (limited free lift) or
3-Stage (full free lift) mast.
The lift trucks are battery powered. An electric motor driven
hydraulic pump provides the lifting function. An electric
traction motor supplies forward and reverse travel. The
control handle has the following functions: steering, brak-
ing, direction control, lifting, lowering, and horn operation.
Controls may differ by model.
Several methods of stopping are available. One method of
stopping and direction changing is controlled plugging
(electrical braking). Controlled plugging is reversing the
speed/direction control while traveling, causing the unit to
slow to a stop. Return the control to the OFF position to
remain stopped. If the control is not returned to the OFF
position, the lift truck will accelerate in the opposite direc-
tion. Fully raising or lowering the control handle will operate
the electric brake. A third method of stopping the lift truck is
to use regenerative braking. The lift truck will slow to a
gradual stop when the speed/direction control is released
to the OFF position.
The Operating Manual is in the container on the drive unit
cover. This is a permanent reference and must be available
for use at all times.
Nameplate
WARNING
Any change to the lift truck or its equipment can
change the lifting capacity. If the Nameplate does not
show the maximum capacity, or if the lift truck equip-
ment, including the battery, does not match that shown
on the Nameplate, then the lift truck must not be oper-
ated.
