How to Raise Load Wheels
(MSW020/025/030/040-E, MRW020/030-E, and
MSW025/030-F)
WARNING
Never raise the outriggers any higher than necessary
to change the load wheels. Always raise both outrig-
gers at the same time. Raising the outriggers too high
can cause the lift truck to tip over and cause possible
damage or injury.
1. Put blocks in front and back of the drive tire to prevent
movement of the lift truck.
2. Use an overhead crane and web sling under the outrig-
gers at the mast to raise the load wheels. Another lift truck
can also be used to raise the outriggers. Make sure that the
crane and sling or other lift truck have a capacity of at least
two-thirds (2/3) the total weight of the lift truck as shown on
the nameplate.
3. To raise the fork end of the lift truck, hook a lift strap
through each load wheel opening in the top of each fork
and lift together. See Figure 24.
Raise the outriggers only enough to suspend the wheels.
Install blocks under the outriggers at the rear of the wheels
to support the lift truck. See Figure 25.
How to Raise Load Wheels (MCW025/030/040-
E)
1. Put the mast in the vertical position. Put a block under
each outer upright.
2. Tilt the mast fully forward until the load wheels are raised
from the surface.
3. Put blocks under the frame behind the load wheels.
4. Put additional blocks in front and back of the drive tire to
prevent movement of the lift truck.
5. If the hydraulic system will not operate, use a hydraulic
jack under the side of the frame near the front. Make sure
the jack has a capacity equal to at least half the weight of
the lift truck. See the nameplate for lift truck weight.
