Outboard Rigging Guide - 2001 703 Remote Control Assy.
Reassembly for Port Side Application
(Optional)
The 703 control can be used for left (port) side
applications if it is reassembled as instructed in
this section.
1. Pinch the wire cover with your fingers and
pull it off.
2. Using a 12mm socket wrench, loosen the bolt
on the back side of the control as shown.
3. Place a punch on the bolt head and tap it with
a hammer to remove the control lever from
the control box.
4. Loosen the two screws (as shown) and
remove the neutral lock holder.
5. Invert the remote control box and reinstall the
neutral lock holder 180 degrees from its pre-
vious position.
Tightening Torque:
0.12 0.15m-kg (0.87 ~ 1.1 ft-lb.)
6. Reinstall the control lever on the opposite
(back) side. Secure it by retightening the bolt,
making sure that the washer is properly in
place.
Tightening Troque:
0.6 ~ 0.65m-kg (4.3 ~ 4.7 ft-lb.)
7. Make sure that the power-trim-and-tilt lead
wires are not twisted or slackened, and rein-
stall and wire cover.
