4. Adjust:
Engine idle speed
Adjustment steps:
Turn the pilot screw
1
until it is lightly seated.
Turn the pilot screw out by the specified num-
ber of turns.
Pilot screw:
1-7/8 turns out
Turn the throttle stop screw
2
in or out until
the specified idling speed is obtained.
Turning in Idling speed is increased.
Turning out Idling speed is decreased.
5. Adjust:
Throttle cable free play
Refer to “THROTTLE CABLE FREE
PLAY ADJUSTMENT” section.

Prior to adjusting the throttle cable free play, the
engine idling speed should be adjusted.
1. Check:
Throttle cable free play

3 5 mm at throttle grip flange
2. Adjust:
Throttle cable free play
Adjustment steps:
Never accelerate the throttle when stopping the
engine.
