EMC Guidelines Compliance for Models 4o0477 to 4o0930
Drives with stand-alone EMC filters (4o0477 to 4o0930) are tested according to European standards EN
61800-3:2004+A1:2012 and comply with EMC guidelines. Use drives with stand-alone EMC filters to comply with EMC
guidelines.

EMC Filter Installation
Installation Method
Verify the
following installation conditions to ensure that other devices and machinery used in combination with drive models
4o0477 to 4o0930 also comply with EMC guidelines. Refer to EMC Filters on page 102 for EMC filter installation.
1.
Install an EMC filter to the input side specified by Yaskawa for compliance with European standards.
2.
Place the drive in the enclosure.
3.
Use braided shield cable for the drive and motor wiring, or run the wiring through a metal conduit.
4.
Keep wiring as short as possible. Ground the shield on both the drive side and the motor side.
5.
Make sure the protective earthing conductor complies with technical standards and local safety regulations.
WARNING! Electrical Shock Hazard. Because the leakage current exceeds 3.5 mA in models 4
o
0302 and larger, IEC/EN
61800-5-1 states that either the power supply must be automatically disconnected in case of discontinuity of the protective earthing
conductor, or a protective earthing conductor with a cross-section of at least 10 mm
2
(Cu) or 16 mm
2
(Al) must be used. Failure to
comply may result in death or serious injury.
