Basic Call Features
The Yealink IP phone is as easy to use as a traditional fixed phone on a public switched
telephone network (PSTN), which enables you to place/answer/transfer a call, create a
conference call, etc.
This chapter provides basic operating instructions for the IP phones. Topics include:

Switching among the Handset, Speakerphone and
Headset Modes
You can place and answer calls on your phone in one of the following three ways:
 Pick up the handset to be in the handset mode.
 Press the Speakerphone key to be in the speakerphone mode. The key LED glows green
except on SIP-T40G/T40P IP phone.
 Press the HEADSET key to be in the headset mode. The key LED glows green except on
SIP-T40G/T40P IP phone.
You can select a desired mode before or after you dialing a number. Meanwhile, during a call
