Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Solutions
Aiming pattern does
not appear when
pressing the scan
button.
If the configuration requires
a power supply, re-connect
the power supply.
Connect/re-connect the
host interface cable.
Enable the aiming pattern.
Imager comes on, but
scanner does not
decode the barcode.
Ensure the scanner is
programmed to read the
type of barcode being
scanned.
Ensure the symbol is not
defaced. Scan other
barcodes of the same
barcode type.
Move scanner closer to or
further from barcode.
Scanner decodes
barcode, but does not
transmit the data to the
host.
Scan the appropriate host
type barcode.
Re-connect the cable.
Set the scanner’s
communication parameters
to match the host’s setting.
Configure the scanner’s
conversion parameters
properly.
Program the correct ADF
rules.
Host displays scanned
data incorrectly.
Scan the appropriate host
type programming barcode.
Program the proper editing
options (e.g. UPC-E to
UPC-A Conversion).
Scanner battery LED
turns solid red for a few
seconds.
Charge the battery.
