31.1 O ve rvie w
This section provides information for AAA in Config ura tion.
Use the AAA screens to configure authentication, authorization and accounting settings on the Switch.
31.2 Auth Me tho d
Authentication is the process of determining who a user is and validating access to the Switch. The
Switch can authenticate users who try to log in based on user accounts configured on the Switch itself.
The Switch can also use an external authentication server to authenticate a large number of users.

Use this screen to view the Auth Me tho d settings. Click C o nfig ura tio n > AA A > Auth Me tho d to open this
screen.

LABEL DESCRIPTIO N
Auth Method
Name Displays the authentication method name. The name can be between 1 and 31 ASCII
Alphanumeric Characters.
Method List Displays the list of authentication methods as being Lo c a l or Radius or TA CAC S+.
Action Click the Ac tio n button to change the configuration settings for a VLAN entry.
Add Click Add to create a new Auth Me tho d entry.
