The AlphaTRAK™ Control Solution
AlphaTRAK Control Solution is a red liquid that
contains a fixed amount of glucose that is used to:
Practice testing without having to use animal blood.•
Ensure that the meter and test strips are working •
together properly.
A control solution test should be performed:
After setting up the AlphaTRAK Meter and before •
the first blood test.
When a new vial of test strips is opened.•
When blood sample results are questionable and confirmation •
that the monitor and test strips are working together properly is
required.
If the test strip vial was not closed properly.•
If the meter is dropped.•
Upon the advice of a veterinary professional.•
AlphaTRAK Control Solution is good for three months after
opening the bottle or until the expiration date printed on the label,
whichever comes first.
Important: Count forward three months from the date a new bottle
of control solution is opened. This is the discard date. Write this date
on the side of the control solution bottle.
