Setting up the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer
To set-up the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer instrument:
1 Locate bench space that meets the requirements described in “Bench
space” on page 17.
2 Place the instrument on the bench in an upright position.
3 Open the lid of the bioanalyzer and pull the metal lever on the inside left of
the lid to the vertical position. Remove the shipment lock and store it for
future use.

Damage by electrostatic discharge
The heater plate and electrodes are sensitive to electrostatic discharge.
➔ Make sure that you are grounded before inserting a chip to prevent the Agilent 2100
Bioanalyzer from being damaged by electrostatic discharge. The lid is grounded to
leak off electrostatic energy of the operator.
