The table below gives the principle of evacuation of SF
6
gas apparatus and
precautions to take :

1 De--energize apparatus, switch--
off where applicable and earth.
2 Connect the servicing unit to the
gas filling nipple by means of a
hose and using an adsorber filter.
3 Suck SF
6
gas :
-- Into servicing unit or ,
-- After having taken the ap-
propriate safety precautions, ex-
haust the gas outdoors (observe
the local regulations on emis-
sion).
Where switchgear with consider-
able decomposition products is
involved, exhaust outdoors only
through an adsober filter.
4 Fill gas compartment if possible
with nitrogen or dry compressed
air at rated pressure and subse-
quently, discharge outdoors (if
possible through an adsorber fil-
ter).
