Do you have a question about the APG PG10 and is the answer not in the manual?
The PG10 is a digital pressure gauge manufactured by Automation Products Group, Inc. It offers a range of features for pressure measurement, monitoring, and data logging, with various configuration options to suit different applications.
The PG10's primary function is to measure and display pressure readings. It supports multiple units of measure, including PSI, BAR, KPA, MBAR, INHG, INH2O, MMHG, KGCM^2, MPA, FTH2O, and CMHG, with custom unit options available for volumetric weight display. The gauge can be configured to display the present pressure reading, maximum pressure reading, and minimum pressure reading, with the ability to reset these maximum/minimum values.
It includes a Peak-Hold feature, which displays the maximum pressure reading since power-on or the last reset. The gauge also incorporates advanced settings for display customization and optional features. An Auto-Off function, applicable to battery-powered units, allows users to set an inactivity time before the gauge powers down, or to keep it continuously powered based on ambient light levels. The decimal place resolution can be adjusted to High, Medium, or Low Resolution. The sample rate for readings can be set to SLOW (4x/second), MEDIUM (8x/second), or FAST (16x/second).
A Bar Graph feature allows users to define 0% and 100% values for a 270° display bar graph, with bars appearing/disappearing in 10% increments. The Full-Scale Range Adjust feature enables fine-tuning of the reading at full-scale pressure within +/-10% of the full-scale value. A Fast Calibration function allows for quick zero and span calibration by applying zero and full-scale pressure.
The PG10 also offers datalogging capabilities, recording pressure readings with associated date/time stamps at user-defined intervals. It can log continuously or based on specific pressure conditions (event logging) using Trip Relay settings. The gauge can store a maximum of 60 records in a FIFO buffer. Users can set the date and time, logging sample rate (1 second, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day), and enable/disable event logging based on Trip Relay status (T1ON, T2ON, T1T2ON, T1T2OF, T1OFF, T2OFF). Logged readings can be viewed, and logging can be stopped or cleared. The clock can be enabled on the main display, alternating with the unit of measure.
A Tare feature allows setting the current pressure reading as a zero reference to measure net pressure changes. The gauge can be reset to factory default settings.
For models equipped with outputs, the PG10 supports analog signals and trip point relays. Analog Low (AL SET) and Analog High (AH SET) setpoints can be defined for the analog output signal (e.g., 4mA/0V and 20mA/2V/5V). The analog signal endpoints can also be calibrated (AL CAL, AH CAL). Dual SPDT mechanical trip-point outputs (T1 and T2) can be configured with six different logic functions: Normally Closed (Type 0), Exclusive (Type 1), Normally Closed with Hysteresis (Type 2), Normally Open (Type 3), Inclusive (Type 4), Normally Open with Hysteresis (Type 5), and Trip Disable (Type 6). Trip Pressure determines the lower pressure point, and Trip Window defines the pressure range for certain types.
On models equipped with RS-485 Modbus communications, the PG10 can function as a slave device. Users can configure the Baud Rate (2400, 9600, 19200, 33400), Parity (None, Even, Odd), Stop Bits (1 or 2), and Sensor Number (address).
Output Specifications:
The PG10 features a 4-button interface (MODE, ENTR, Up, Down) with dual functions for each button, allowing navigation and configuration within the setup menu and standard operating mode.
