What to do if my Applus+ Smog DADdy Printer Accessories wireless version has no power?
    • H
      Hannah MendezAug 7, 2025
If your Applus+ Printer Accessories wireless version isn't powering on, ensure it has been charged for at least 3 hours before its first use. You can also connect it to the computer using the USB cable to see if the power light comes on. Note that the unit shuts down after 6 minutes of inactivity to save battery. It wakes up if sufficient battery voltage on pin 16 is detected or a USB connection is established. If the vehicle has insufficient battery voltage present on pin 16 of the DLC, reconnect using a USB tethered connection or by using the vehicle charging adapter.

Confirm the self-test cable is securely attached to the Self-Test connector on the device. 3. Inspect the male connector of the DLC cable for bent pins. 4. Make sure nothing is obstructing the cable and device connections. 5. Verify the device has power and the USB cable is connected. 6. If you have multiple devices, try using different cables to see if the DLC or Self-Test cables need to be replaced.

      Xavier CervantesAug 15, 2025
If your Applus+ Printer Accessories wired version isn't getting power, first check if the USB cable is properly attached to both the computer and the device. Avoid using USB hubs, as they may not function correctly; instead, connect the device directly to the PC using the supplied USB cable. Also, make sure the USB cable isn't damaged.

If the OBD Comm doesn't illuminate on your Applus+ Printer Accessories, first check that all cables are properly and securely connected. Confirm that the BAR-OIS software is open and operational. If issues persist, try using an alternate grounding cable, as the ground pin may not be present on the test vehicle's DLC. Consult the Auxiliary Power and Alternate Ground Operation section for more details.
