3600 SERIES USER MANUAL
3600 Series Programmable DC Power Supply
VERSION 2.10 2006.03
8
2.2.2 Setting the current limit
During actual operation, if a load change causes the current limit to be exceeded, the power supply will
automatically crossover to the constant current mode at the preset current limit and the output voltage will drop
proportionately.
For example, when output voltage=10V, load R=10 Ohm, then the load current should be V/R = 1 A. If the current
value is set to 1.50A, the power supply works in CV mode, the actual current value should be displayed on the LCD
as 1.00A. If the load resistor drops to 5 Ohm, the current will increase. When the current exceed 1.5A, the power
supply will change to CC mode, and the output voltage will drop down to7.5V to maintain the actual current value to
1.5A.
To set the current, please follow this operation procedure:

You can exit the current set operation at any point by pressing the ESC key
2.2.3 Output On/Off
Press the “Out on/off” button to enable/disable the power output. This key toggles between two states, when the
output is off, pressing this button will turn the output on, and vice versa.
2.2.4 Store parameters
3600 series power supply can store up to 10 sets of parameters in its nonvolatile memory for later recall.
These parameters include 1) output voltage; 2) current limit; 3) maximum output voltage; 4) maximum output
power; 5) keypad locked/unlocked; 6) Baud rate; 7) Communication address.
The store operation is as follows:
