4-8 Running ADLS
To start the ADLS program, double-click its icon. Figure 4-4 shows an
example of the screen that appears.

When the program opens, it automatically begins gathering statistics.
The screen displays the current time and the elapsed time (the time
since the ADLS program was opened).
The System Information and Card Information areas give configuration
information for the Macintosh, the MacCon adapter, and the Asanté
EtherTalk driver.
The Transmit Status and Receive Status areas display information about
Ethernet traffic through the MacCon adapter. The upper panes of the
Transmit Status and Receive Status areas show Simple Network Man-
agement Protocol (SNMP) information; the lower panes show infor-
mation specific to the Asanté EtherTalk driver.
The
File
menu contains these commands:
Start
-- Begin statistical tracking and display; used after selecting
Stop
Stop
-- Stop/pause statistical tracking and display
Reset
-- Set all counters back to zero
Quit
– Close the ADLS program
Note: The Switch Slot card and Switch to ENSC commands
are dimmed; they are not applicable to the MacCon
adapter.
