Why are Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers communication hubs not found when scanning?
    • K
      kendra48Aug 18, 2025
If none or only some of the communication hubs are found when scanning with Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers, consider these possible causes: * All radio channels are busy, or too many hubs use the same channel; try rescanning. * A communication hub may not be working; try restarting it. * The communication hub(s) might be out of range; reduce the number of powered-up hubs temporarily during configuration. * The communication hub(s) are not powered. After configuration, ensure all hubs have stable radio communication with paired locks/sensors.

What to do if Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers device update fails?
    • A
      Anthony GrahamAug 20, 2025
If the device update fails on your Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers, it might be due to the following reasons: * You have not shown the credential to the lock within 15 seconds. To resolve this, perform the device update again and ensure you show the credential to the lock within 15 seconds. * The lock and hub might be in different security modes, which can cause communication problems. To resolve this, change the security mode in the hub and perform the device update again.

How to fix Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers when not possible to pair communication hub and lock/sensor?
    • M
      Maria FullerAug 23, 2025
If you're unable to pair the communication hub and lock/sensor with your Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers, here are a couple of reasons and solutions: * You might be using a credential configured as an override credential. To fix this, use a credential that is not on the override credentials list. * The lock/sensor and the hub could be on different radio channels. To resolve this, check the radio channel settings for both the lock/sensor and the hub to ensure they match.

Why is there unstable communication between Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers communication hub and lock/sensor?
    • S
      sarah41Aug 26, 2025
If you're experiencing unstable communication between the communication hub and lock/sensor in your Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers, even when the MAC address is displayed at scan, a probable cause is bad radio conditions or limited radio range. Try moving the USB radio closer to the communication hub, either by moving the laptop or by using a USB extension cable to distance the USB radio from the PC.

How to resolve communication error on Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers?
    • L
      Lisa PatrickAug 28, 2025
If a communication error is displayed and you cannot configure the communication hub on your Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers, it could be because the communication hub belongs to another installation and has a different encryption key. To solve this, switch to the correct installation or create a new installation with the correct encryption key. Alternatively, repeat the scanning and pairing process.

Why is it not possible to use override credentials on Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers?
    • J
      jay14Aug 30, 2025
If it's not possible to use override credentials on your Assa Abloy IP Access Controllers, it may be because no default override credentials are configured for the installation. Add the credentials in the door configuration wizard to resolve this.

Why are some Assa Abloy Switch communication hubs not found when scanning?
    • M
      Melody MillerSep 2, 2025
If you find that none or only some communication hubs appear during a scan, it could be due to several reasons. All channels might be busy, or too many hubs might be using the same channel; in this case, repeat the scanning process by selecting Scan / Scan all. Another reason could be that the communication hub is not working, so try restarting the hub. The communication hubs may also be out of range or not powered; to solve this, temporarily reduce the number of powered up Hubs within radio range during configuration.

What to do if the Assa Abloy Aperio Switch device update fails?
    • A
      Anthony FreemanSep 4, 2025
If a device update fails, it may be because you have not shown the credential to the lock within 30 seconds. In this case, perform the device update again and ensure you show the credential to the lock within this time frame. Another cause may be that the lock and hub are in different security modes; if so, change the security mode in the hub and then try the device update again.

How to fix the issue when it is not possible to pair Assa Abloy Switch communication hub and lock/sensor?
    • D
      Daniel EspinozaSep 7, 2025
If you're unable to pair a communication hub with a lock or sensor, it might be because you are using a credential configured as an override credential; use a credential that is not on the override credentials list. Alternatively, the lock/sensor and the hub may be on different radio channels; verify and adjust the radio channel settings for both the lock/sensor and the hub to ensure they match.

What does it mean if N/A is shown for the installation in Assa Abloy Aperio Switch?
    • J
      James PerezSep 9, 2025
If 'N/A' is displayed for the installation in the communication hub field and in the Lock/sensor field of the scan result table, it could indicate that the communication hub and/or the communication hub paired with a lock/sensor belongs to another installation and has a different encryption key. To resolve this, switch to the correct installation or create a new installation with the correct encryption key. Another possibility is that the lock/sensor is not paired with the communication hub; in this case, pair the lock/sensor and communication hub in the Configure door wizard of the Programming Application.
