Telephone operation
Making a call
 Press   or  /SPEAKER, then 
enter the telephone number. 
The screen displays the elapsed time as you talk 
(in hours, minutes and seconds).
Note: Pressing   or  /SPEAKER to access 
services from your telephone service provider does not affect the 
elapsed time.
On hook dialing (predialing)
1.  Enter the telephone number. Press 
MUTE/DELETE to make 
corrections when entering the phone number.
2. Press 
 or  /SPEAKER to dial.
Answering a call
 Press   or  /SPEAKER.
    -OR-
 Press any dialing key (0-9, TONE   or #).
Note: Smart call blocker is set to on by default. If your directory, allow list, star name list, and 
block list are empty, all calls will be classified as unknown calls. The telephone will screen all 
calls and ask callers to announce their names and press the pound key (#) before the calls 
ring on your telephone. We recommend that you set up your directory, allow list, star name 
list, and block list before using your telephone with the Smart call blocker feature. See About 
Smart call blocker on page 68.
Ending a call
 Press   or return the handset to the telephone base  
or charger.
Auto o
A call ends automatically when you put the handset in the 
telephone base or charger.
