Install
Application
With the
Install
Application
option, you
can
change the
way an
application
program
will run, or you
can
determine
the kind
of
data
file that
will open
an
application.
With an
application
program
open
in
a
window,
select
the
Install
Application option
from the
Options
Menu.
The following
Dialog

If you
want the program to
receive a data
file
before it begins to
run,
choose
one of the
three options.
Choose "GEM"
if
you
have
an application
that
takes
advantage
of
the special
features of
GEM.
Choose
either
"TOS"
or
"TOS-takes
parameters”
if your
program doesn't use
the features
of GEM.
You can
also determine
the
type
of
data
files that
will
open
an
application. If, for
example, you
are using
ATARI
Logo™
and
you
have a data
file that has a
filename
extender
(the
three letters that
follow
the period in the
filename) of LOG,
you
can
set
Logo to
run
from this
extender. Type LOG
after the
Document
Type option
and
click on
the
OK
button. You
can now
select
any data
file
with
a
.LOG
extender and Logo
will run automatically.
To use
this feature,
the
application
file must be
in the same
window
as
the data
file.
Note:
To save
the changes
made
using the
Install
Application
option, use
the Save
Desktop
option.
